Leadership Development Academy

Training Investment adds Value for Clients

ICC clients benefit from the unique value and strategic partnership of the Leadership Development Academy, which rapidly trains and equips ICC’s newest consultants to provide clients with greater economies of service and cost.

“Each Academy participant comes out of college as the best in their class, and we teach each of them the specifics they need to leverage technologies to solve problems our clients are facing,” said Scot Burdette, ICC Vice President for Application and Integration Services.

“After immersion in the intense business and technical training, the Academy graduates smoothly and confidently transition to client project work,”  Burdette added. “Their value can be immediate, and that is an investment we make in them on behalf of the clients we serve — making this a win for all three of us.”

Academy participants embody ICC’s push for innovative solutions for success

Led by ICC experts, the three-month Academy curriculum features general business overviews of the theory behind the technology, in-depth exposure to specific tools and on-the-job experience. New graduates take part in:

  • Grasping the professional business aspects of being a consultant
  • Training in relevant technology, such as, Java, .NET, SharePoint, ETL, and other targeted paths
  • Immersion in advanced methodologies and technologies
  • Working on projects to demonstrate and reinforce technical skills
  • Self-study with comprehensive evaluation and certification

“One of the greatest skills the Leadership Development Academy gives you is to figure out how to understand a project quickly and jump in,” said Tony Brown, a 2009 college graduate who is now an ICC software developer and engineer. “I have the strength and ability to do that because I have the fundamentals down.”

ICC clients see this talent pool as critical allies in providing short- and long-term, focused, face-to-face solutions in our fast-paced business world.

Building enthusiasm: they ask “Why not?”

“Our graduates ask ‘Why not?’ and that is key as technology advances,” Burdette said. “We embrace innovation, and these young people come in and challenge the status quo which helps us reduce costs while we expand service to meet evolving challenges.”

Mentoring  relationships with senior developers and architects “help Academy graduates get their legs under them,” Burdette says. “You can’t just turn them loose in a new project and say, ‘Go!’ What makes ICC successful is our strong structure and sharing of knowledge. We are investing months in advance of the client’s needs, to build the skill set needed to drive high quality projects.”

In short, the Academy offers a unique edge to ICC clients searching to stand out amid the static.  ICC’s investment produces young talent that is skilled, trained, ready and eager to tackle your business’ unique needs.
