ABOUT ICC
HISTORY
We’ve sure come a long way from our roots as a value-added software reseller.

We were founded in 1979 as a DEC VAX VAR, and current CEO Steven Glaser joined as an investor/principal in the mid 1980's.  When John Kratz joined the company as President in 1990, he and Steven transformed our business model. The new focus? IT services.

By the boom times of the late 90’s, we had grown to 100 consultants. But after the dot com bust in 2000 and the general economic slowdown after 9-11, things weren’t so easy. We watched as other computer services companies shrank in size substantially or went out of business altogether when clients cut funding for IT projects. Primarily known for staffing at the time, we needed to differentiate, or watch ourselves go the way of our competitors.

“When the slow down hit, we had to take a step back and look at our services in a new way. We had to re-evaluate what our clients’ wants and needs were in this new market, and how we could address those in different ways,” says Kratz.

Instead of trying to increase market share by growing geographically, we concentrated on diversifying the services offered within Central Ohio. With more services, we could meet the needs of a broader client base. We leveraged a small software development outsourcing group we had already been running to launch this new strategy. From there, we added project based outsourcing services in networking/infrastructure and business intelligence.

Today, we’ve got a professional staff of over 375. Our revenues are projected to exceed $50 million this year. This makes us the largest privately owned IT services company in Ohio.

“We’re a flexible company that responds well to market changes, but we’re pretty deliberate about it,” Kratz states. “You aren’t going to see us do anything drastic without thinking through the effects it may have on our business and customers.”
